Gets close to the Sydney-Hobart action.

On Boxing Day, Stewart House will hold its annual fundraising cruise on the Manly Ferry, affording supporters close-up views of the famous Sydney-Hobart yacht race start. There will be commentary and entertainment provided by the Allan Ward Jazz Band.

“All proceeds go to support the valuable opportunities we provide to over 1800 children from all parts of NSW each year,” Stewart House CEO Graeme Philpotts said. “Harbour City Ferries already provide free trips for our kids between Manly and Circular Quay.

“We are indebted to Harbour City Ferries for operating this very special cruise, allowing us to raise much needed funds, at the same time giving our supporters a unique opportunity to view the race.”

Harbour City Ferries CEO Steffen Faurby said Stewart House provides a wonderful service. “We’re very proud to be associated with such a worthwhile charity and look forward to welcoming everyone on-board for the Boxing Day event.”

The two-hour cruise leaves Manly Wharf at 12.20pm. Passengers are welcome to bring a picnic and the café on board will be open. Stewart House must raise $2.9 million to operate and relies entirely on charitable donations.

Five hundred tickets went on sale on November 11. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children under 12 years.

To book go to the Stewart House website www.stewarthouse.org.au or phone (02) 9938 3021. Tickets are limited to 500 and, last year, sold out in a few days.
