By the decision of the Branch Executive, Mr Neale Dawson, Principal Solicitor, NEW Law Pty Ltd, will be the Returning Officer as per the AEU New South Wales Teachers Federation Branch Rules for the election of Professional Officers of the AEU NSW Teachers Federation Branch for 2016–2018.

Candidates must be financial members of the Federation as at Friday, July 17, 2015 and must be nominated by at least two financial members of Federation.

Notice of Election for Professional Officers of the AEU New South Wales Teachers Federation Branch 2016-2018
A candidate may complete a statutory declaration in support of candidature which will be forwarded to the Branch Professional Officers Committee for consideration and compiled and distributed with the ballot paper. The statutory declaration should be no more than 400 words.
The candidate’s statement should be typed in no less than a 10-point Arial font and affixed within the box on the nomination form.
As well, the candidate must provide a Word file as an attachment to an email sent to firstname.lastname@example.org marked to the attention of the Returning Officer. This file will be used to print candidate statements on information sheets provided to voters.
The Branch Professional Officers Committee is required to give a report on the suitability of candidates to the Branch Council on Saturday, September 5, 2015.

Should more than the required number of nominations be received for each or any position, a draw will be conducted to determine the order of candidates’ names on the ballot paper at NEW Law at 11am, Thursday, August 27, 2015. Candidates or their representatives are invited to witness the draw.
Any ballot will be conducted at the Federation Council on Saturday, September 5, 2015. As per the AEU New South Wales Teachers Federation Branch Rules each candidate will have the opportunity to address the Council by way of a three-minute speech.
The method of voting to be observed for this election will be exhaustive preferential. All squares must be numbered.
