Implementing the New Stage 6 Mathematics Syllabus

Learning the numbers game: Eddie Woo and David Watson, above, tackled the new Stage 6 syllabus

Eddie Woo and David Watson presented a sold-out course at Blacktown in August for the Centre for Professional Learning (CPL).

The course, Implementing the New Stage 6 Mathematics Syllabus, is designed to help members understand and plan for the new Standard Mathematics course, which will be taught to Year 11 for the first time in 2018.

Highly evaluated by participants, the course focuses on new content areas such as networks, as well as effective pedagogy for all mathematics classrooms.

Eddie Woo is Head Teacher Mathematics at Cherrybrook Technology High School and creator of the popular WooTube channel, which teachers can view online. Eddie was also recently featured on the ABC’s Australian Story.

David Watson is Head Teacher Mathematics at Fairfield High School and has extensive experience working with teachers across a range of NSW public schools.

The CPL course will be delivered again, at Surry Hills on 31 October.
