HSC marking under the new award

Higher School Certificate (HSC) marking 2017 is underway and is operating under a new award.

The Industrial Relations Commission made a new award for HSC markers in June. The new award increases HSC markers’ pay rates by 2.5% in 2017 and by a further 2.5% in 2018.

For external marking, markers are paid a ‘per question’ rate of pay rather than an hourly rate of pay. Those rates can be accessed on the Federation’s HSC Markers webpage below.

Additional information on the new award can be accessed here.

The new award still allows time for markers to elect a Fed Rep at the first session of marking. External markers are advised to exchange email addresses with their Fed Rep before moving into external mode.

A kit and a registration form for elected Fed Reps, rates of pay for 2017 and other information are available on the Federation’s HSC Markers webpage.
