Two ferries are being put on this year for a grandstand view of the start of the historic Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race to raise money for the teachers’ number one charity, Stewart House, and tickets are available right now.
The annual fundraising cruise on Boxing Day, Monday, December 26, allows Stewart House supporters to get on the water with the best seats to view the race. Two designated ferries will leave from Manly Wharf at 12.15pm.
“All proceeds go to support the valuable opportunities we provide to more than 1800 children from all parts of NSW each year,” Stewart House Chief Executive Officer Graeme Philpotts said.
A 12-day stay at Stewart House, next to Curl Curl beach, provides children with a much-needed break from their current cirsumstances. There is no cost to parents or carers.
“We are indebted to Harbour City Ferries for operating this very special cruise, allowing us to raise much needed funds at the same time giving our supporters a unique opportunity to view the race,” Mr Philpotts said.
The cruise lasts about two hours depending on weather and other conditions and returns to Manly Wharf. Passengers are welcome to bring a picnic and the café on board will be open.
Tickets are limited and sell out very quickly each year. Tickets went on sale on October 17 and are priced at $30 for adults and $15 for children under 12 years.
