History comes alive

It was a joy seeing the Centre for Professional Learning’s (CPL) continued delivery of professional development to members in regional NSW as the highly-evaluated History courses travelled to Tamworth in June.

The courses, History K–6 Integrating Geography and History 7–10 Quality Programming and Assessment, were developed to support the new NSW Syllabuses.

The course presenters, Dr Jennifer Lawless and Kate Cameron, have extensive experience as CPL presenters and are esteemed as teachers, historians and university lecturers. Both have worked at the BOSTES in syllabus development and Dr Lawless was the BOSTES HSIE Inspector with carriage of the development of the new History and Geography syllabuses.

They have also written articles about the new K–6 and 7–10 History syllabuses for the Journal of Professional Learning, JPL. These articles can be found here.
