BESSIE “BETTY” PATERSON (NEE FREWIN) 23 Jan 1929–31 Aug 2015 Betty started her Teaching Certificate in 1946 at Balmain Teacher’s College, joining the pioneer session of a brand new college at the end of World War 2. Her teaching career began at a country posting in Barham where she happily remained for 3 years. Betty spent 18 years in Fiji, where she married, started a family and held various teaching posts. In 1974 the family relocated to Sydney’s Northern Beaches where Betty taught at Seaforth Primary School and then retired at 67 years at Mosman Public School. She was a much respected and loved teacher with a great thirst for knowledge and a passion for sharing it!
