Show relives apartheid struggle

An exhibition showcasing Australia’s involvement with the anti-apartheid struggle will open on September 11 at Customs House, Circular Quay at 6pm.

Photographs and actual memorabilia cover from 1960 to 1994.

Australian international policy maker and former federal Labor Minister Gareth Evans will open the exhibition. As a student activist he protested against apartheid on the streets of Melbourne in the 1960s. As Foreign Minister he met South African anti-apartheid revolutionary Nelson Mandela just days after he was released from prison.

The exhibition celebrates 20 years of democracy in South Africa and will close on October 15.
